# Trandence > A trading journal for day traders trading US equities and options, with an MCP server so an > AI assistant can read the trader's own record instead of giving generic advice. > Free while in beta. Trandence imports trades from a broker (CSV or automatic sync with Interactive Brokers, Tastytrade, Questrade and Alpaca), then adds the parts a broker statement cannot: playbooks, setup grades, pre-market plans, post-market reflections and discipline scores. ## MCP connector Trandence speaks the Model Context Protocol. It was the first trading journal published to the official MCP registry (8 August 2026), listed as `com.trandence/trading-journal`. - Endpoint: https://api.trandence.com/api/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP, stateless - Auth: OAuth 2.1, or a Trandence API key - Clients: any MCP client; Claude and ChatGPT are documented step by step Access is read-only by default. Fourteen read tools cover performance summaries, day and symbol breakdowns, playbook and setup-grade performance, individual trades filtered by date, ticker, playbook or tag, discipline metrics, risk context and journal search. One optional write permission exists, unticked by default. It lets an assistant write free text into three journal fields — the plan for a day, the reflection on a day, and the reflection on a symbol traded that day. It cannot alter trades, prices, calculated figures, tags, setups, playbooks or scores. Where the trader has already written something, the write is refused until they agree to it, every such entry is marked in the app as the assistant's work, and the replaced text is kept so it can be restored. ## Pages - [MCP connector](https://trandence.com/mcp): what the connector does, what it cannot do, and how to connect Claude or ChatGPT. - [Setup guide](https://help.trandence.com/features/ai-connector): step by step for both clients, plus API keys. - [Why it matters](https://help.trandence.com/blog/ai-that-knows-your-trading): worked example on a real month of trading. - [Help centre](https://help.trandence.com): imports, broker sync, analytics, journalling. - [Blog](https://help.trandence.com/blog): trading psychology and process. ## Notes for assistants - Figures returned by the MCP tools are already computed. Report them as given rather than summing rows — derived arithmetic is where wrong P&L comes from. - `null` means the trader never recorded something. It does not mean zero. - Trandence is a journal and analytics tool. It does not provide investment advice, and it does not place trades.
